Terra e colori
Sun, sea, wine and greenery: the soul of Riparbella painted by Mina Hamada and Zosen Bandido, at the entrance to the town.
The theme of the work
The warmth of the sun, the freshness of the sea, the slow rhythms of the town and the flavours of oil and wine: the essence of Riparbella translated into abstract, symbolic images in bright colours.
The mural that opens the route at the entrance to the town speaks of the soul of Riparbella through the elements that make up its identity: the warmth of the sun, the freshness of the sea, the slow pace of getting around the town, the flavours of its farming identity — oil and wine — and the joy of the summer spirit, together with the landscapes that surround the town.
Mina Hamada and Zosen Bandido have translated these themes into images that are at once abstract and symbolic, and visually striking: waves of the sea, the cycles of the sun and the moon, a gaze taking in the view from a window, an olive, the colours of wine, the greenery and the silhouette of a figure walking towards the town.
At the request of one of the owners of the wall, the artists also added two personal details: a trowel — in memory of a former owner who worked as a builder — drawn as an arrow marking the start of the route for anyone entering Riparbella, and a magnifying glass, a reference to the profession of one of the current owners, a dermatologist, painted like a lighthouse on the right-hand corner of the building, pointed towards the view in the colours of the town: yellow and blue.
A fresco in which the town looks at itself: the sun, the sea, the wine, and the people who live there.
